Krista Mayes Named Recreation Supervisor

Following an extensive national search, the Medford Parks and Recreation Department has hired Krista Mayes as Recreation Supervisor in charge of adult sports leagues and tournament operations.
She will oversee Oregon's largest municipal adult softball program as well as adult basketball, volleyball, soccer leagues. Her responsibilities also include coordination of youth and adult tournaments and recreation facility scheduling.
Mayes brings seven years of experience as a recreation coordinator or supervisor for the cities of St. George, Utah and Greeley, Colo.
In Utah, she administered adult sports leagues and operated an extensive slate of tournaments and events, including the Adidas Futures event, the national junior college championships and the Huntsman World Senior Games softball tournament.
The Oak Creek, Colo. native graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in sports/exercise science. She was a two-sport college student-athlete at McPherson College in Kansas prior to transferring to UNC.
Mayes occupies the position previously filled by Brandon Meyer, who resigned in December 2011.
